In France, you can drive a car without a licence from the age of 14. The AM licence, which is required for everyone born after 1 January 1988, is issued after an 8-hour training course at a driving school. The course is divided into two parts: the theoretical part provides an introduction to the highway code and road safety, and the practical part allows you to learn about the road and to practice driving.
